MAPI Configuration

I'm trying to configure my check to log in to the mailbox with MAPI. I get a "error [-2147467259] Automation errorUnspecified error" message when I test. I watched network traffic and it's not attempting to talk to my mail servers when it's testing. It looks like it can't read the MAPI profile. I'm using the MAPI component installed with Outlook 2010. I can successfully connect using Outlook and the MAPI profile.

Are you using MAPI:ProfileName as the outbound service address?

What version o fIPSentry are you running?

I'm using SMTP to send and MAPI to receive. But I did try MAPI on send too and it also failed with the same error. I do have "MAPI:MailTest01" in the Inbound Server field. My profile is named MailTest01. It appears to be correct syntax as the UserName and Port fields gray out after typing it in. I'm running 5.7.0

Is MailTest01 the default and only profile under the user under which IPSentry is running?

Please download and install the latest release 5.76.0 and let me know if the problem persists.

BTW> The reason the username is inaccessible is that it uses the user account specified in the profile - the password however must be enetered, matching the user account of the profile to authenticate with the exchange server, so you will need to enter the password associated with the user account in the profile.

Currently, yes, it is the only profile and I made it a default. But my goal is to have multiple profiles for multiple mailbox server tests. I'll go ahead and update. But I'm not far behind current and I don't see any MAPI changes in the release notes. So I would be surprised if updating has any effect.

Version 5.7.0 is about 3 years older than 5.76.0 - about 10 public versions ago.
It's possible that there is no difference however 5.7.0 was released before Outlook 2010 and not all internal updates are listed in the published notes.

Internally, in our labs, we have Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2010 on the current version with no problems accessing exchange server. We don't load old versions to attempt and reproduce a problem unless we can reproduce the issue with the current version. e.g. To identify whether an internal update broke existing functionality or if the problem always existed.

Also, if we need to send you debug code, we don't send debug code on old versions.
